Slovenia, the Euro and the nation. Between European future and the reconstruction of a national history

Partager sur :

Abstract

Slovenia, the thirteenth State to join the Euro zone on January 1, 2007, is the only country, along with Greece, to put a different national symbol on each of its eight coins. In a complicated political context, where ethnical issues are more than ever sensitive since the independence, the message sent by these coins to the rest of the Europe provides useful information on the image Slovenia is trying to project.
