From the exception to cultural diversity

Since spring 2000, the WTO is the site of negotiations which are intended to foster liberalization in the trade of services, cultural services included. Meanwhile, efforts to enlarge the coalition of States and governments in favor of the preservation of cultural diversity continues, and the search for a solution to insulate culture from the application of usual international trading rules is taking shape.
