The insurmountable chauvinism of information ? Media, individual worlds and pertinence

Partager sur :

Today, information seems to be globalizing, but the prophets of the « global village » pay more attention to the emission of their messages than they do to the particular conditions of their reception. They forget that, in order to be received, a piece of information has to bring sense, in other words be adaptable, to the « individual world » of its recipient. Untouchable at the heart of each exchange, pertinence shows that information is of local value and subject to context. – Summary AFRI-2001
