The mutations in journalism following the advent of the internet

After explaining how complexity is at the heart the three levels of the profession of journalist, affecting its identity, production and interactions, this contribution will explore the impact of electronic networks on these three levels. As the Internet can be seen as an accelerator of paradoxes, the mutations taking shape in journalism represent a destabilizing force for the profession. This fact explains the present and deep structural crisis of the profession, generating a reflection about the metamorphosis of information in democratic societies. – Summary AFRI-2001
