What economic model can Europe adopt for globalization ?

The issues of globalization divide the EU. The ambitions of largely service-exporting countries differ from the objectives followed by those governments whose trade policies are strongly influenced, not to say determined, by their agrarian producers’ fear. Diverging approaches on this issue may, on the long term, undermine the unity of the EU. Consequently, efforts will be required for finding compromises. The problems of globalization that divide the EU include those separating the old and the – formerly Communist – new member countries.
