The conquest of space and international relations

Partager sur :

Abstract

Space activities are indeed relevant for international relations – in the field of international security, concerning the role of the State in the sharing of regional and international influence, as well as concerning sustainable development. Since fifty years, space activities have reflected the relations of terrestrial power. Technological breakthroughs have been reintegrated in the internal relations between States. Despite its unique and new characteristics, space continues to reflect the image of the past, be it in State hierarchy or in the content of their ambitions.
